Version 0.2.5

Download Mailroom

64-bit Windows or Linux. Mailbox contents are processed on your computer; we receive limited licensing and service data, described in our Privacy Notice.

Free trial: 14 days or 500 MB of cleanup, whichever comes first. No card, no licence key to type. Downloading doesn't start it — it starts when you connect your first Yahoo mailbox in the app, using a Yahoo app password.

Windows

Windows 10 & 11 · 64-bit

Recommended · auto-updates

Installs from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10 & 11 and stays up to date automatically — and Store installs never show a SmartScreen warning.

Check it with Get-FileHash mailroom_0.2.5_Win64.zip in PowerShell. A matching hash proves you have the file we published.

Direct download only — a Microsoft Store install never shows this. Every release is code-signed by Mailroom-LTD, but Windows gives a new publisher's files a low reputation score until enough people have installed them, so you may see “Windows protected your PC”. If the publisher shown is Mailroom-LTD, click More info, then Run anyway. If Windows Security calls the file a threat, don't run it: use the Microsoft Store instead and tell us about the detection.

Linux

Most Linux distros · 64-bit

Recommended · auto-updates

or in a terminalsudo snap install mailroom

Installs on Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, Mint and most modern Linux, and stays up to date automatically.

Check one with sha256sum <file> and compare.

The AppImage is portable and runs on most distributions — make it executable first: chmod +x Mailroom-*.AppImage. The .deb is for Debian, Ubuntu and Mint. The snap is the same app, kept up to date by the Snap Store. Not sure which build? Run grep UBUNTU_CODENAME /etc/os-release — noble means 24.04, resolute means 26.04. That answers it on Mint and other Ubuntu-based distros too; the browser can't tell them apart on its own.

No account, no key

The trial starts when you connect your first Yahoo mailbox in the app: 14 days or 500 MB of cleanup, whichever comes first.

The scan reads the envelope

Sender, size, date, and attachment names, types and sizes. Never the message body, never the file contents.

Yahoo Mail today

That is the whole list for now — we would rather support one provider properly than four of them badly.
